LAKELAND -HealthDay Australia is now reporting positive results of a new, high-profile treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED).

A study that analysed more than 30 million prescriptions for Viagra and other popular erectile dysfunction drugs over two years has found it could save a few dollars by treating ED, according to new figures.
The new study also found it could help men with ED with low blood flow and therefore take more tablets to work more effectively.
"This new treatment could improve blood flow to the penis and increase the duration of erection for some men," said Dr David Brindley, Professor of urology at the University of Glasgow.
"We know that getting and keeping an erection is important for the health of both the men and the women, but that does not mean that every man will experience that side effect, it just means that a new study has found an association between erectile dysfunction and blood flow to the penis."
The men taking the new trial were also given a dummy pill for impotence.
Dr Brindley said: "There's evidence that Viagra works by increasing blood flow to the penis, which helps men to get and keep an erection.
"But it does not mean that every man will experience this side effect, it just means that a new study has found an association between erectile dysfunction and blood flow to the penis."
The new study was conducted by researchers from University of Glasgow and University of Liverpool, who recruited over 100,000 men over the age of 40 to take part.
Dr Brindley said: "It's important to note that the results were from randomisation of men across four different groups: men taking Viagra, men taking sildenafil, men taking tadalafil, and men taking Cialis. The results are not generalised to all men, so we cannot say whether the results will be as effective as Viagra for men with ED."
"The results suggest that men who take Viagra may be more likely to experience side effects, such as headache and flushing, than those taking a placebo," he said.
Viagra, which is available generically under the brand name, is known to help men who are experiencing ED. Viagra can help to restore sexual function and improve erectile function.
"Erectile dysfunction is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection," it says.
The research was funded by the University of Liverpool, which is the largest private hospital in the UK.

The condition affects more than 25 million men worldwide, including people of Asian descent and people of European descent.
